1. Who we are
1.1 These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to your use of the Core to Canopy website (www.coretocanopy.com.au) and any services provided by Core to Canopy (“we”, “us”, “our”).
1.2 Core to Canopy is operated by Rand Zaza (ABN 153 651 014 42), a sole trader with a principal place of business in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
1.3 By accessing our website, booking a service, or engaging us, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
2. What we offer
2.1 Core to Canopy provides culturally responsive, values‑led services to support individual
and community wellbeing, including:
1:1 counselling sessions;
workshops and group programs;
digital resources (e.g. worksheets, guides, recorded materials);
and referrals to other practitioners or services where appropriate.
2.2 Specific services, formats (in‑person/online), durations, and fees are described at the time of booking, in a quote, or in a separate service agreement.
2.3 We may update, pause, or discontinue particular services from time to time. Where this
materially affects an existing booking, we will notify you as soon as reasonably practicable and offer alternatives or a refund where appropriate.
3. Your responsibilities
3.1 You agree to:
provide accurate and complete information when booking or using our services;
attend sessions on time and participate respectfully;
follow reasonable instructions and safety guidelines provided by us;
use our website and any digital resources only for lawful purposes.
3.2 Our services are not a substitute for emergency, medical, legal, or crisis support. In an
emergency, contact 000 or your local emergency service.
4. Fees, payment and cancellation
4.1 Counselling sessions
4.1.1 Fees for 1:1 counselling sessions are as quoted at the time of booking. Unless stated
otherwise, fees are inclusive of GST where applicable.
4.1.2 Payment is due before the session on the day. Sessions may be postponed or rescheduled if payment has not been received.
4.2 Workshops and programs
4.2.1 Fees for workshops and programs are provided on request and confirmed in writing (e.g.via email, quote, or service agreement).
4.2.2 Payment terms for workshops and programs (including any deposit or full pre‑payment) will be specified in the relevant quote or agreement.
4.3 Cancellations and no‑shows
4.3.1 Cancellations, rescheduling, and no‑show arrangements are set out in our Cancellation
and Rescheduling Policy (available on request).
4.3.2 By booking a service, you acknowledge that you have read, or have had the opportunity to read, that policy and agree to be bound by it.
4.3.3 If there is any inconsistency between these Terms and the Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy, the Policy prevails to the extent of the inconsistency for cancellation‑related matters.
4.4 Cancellations by us
4.4.1 If we need to cancel or reschedule a session, workshop, or program, we will notify you as early as possible and offer a rescheduled session or a full refund for the affected service.
5. Privacy and personal information
5.1 We respect your privacy and handle personal information in accordance with applicable
Australian privacy laws, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) where it applies.
5.2 Our Privacy Policy (Core to Canopy Privacy Policy) explains what information we collect, why, how we store and protect it, and how you can access or correct it.
5.3 By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as
described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Intellectual property
6.1 All content on our website and in our materials (including text, graphics, logos, worksheets, handouts, and recordings) is owned by or licensed to Core to Canopy and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
6.2 You may use materials provided to you for your personal, non‑commercial use only, unless we give written permission for other uses.
6.3 You must not copy, reproduce, distribute, or sell our materials without our prior written
consent.
7. Disclaimers and limits of liability
7.1 We provide services with reasonable care and skill. However, to the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee specific outcomes from our services.
7.2 Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
7.3 To the extent permitted by law, Core to Canopy is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or
consequential loss or damage arising from your use of our website or services.
7.4 Our total liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with our services is limited to the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
8. Conduct and safety
8.1 We are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and culturally safe environment. We do not tolerate harassment, discrimination, abuse, or threatening behaviour.
8.2 We may refuse or terminate services to anyone who breaches these standards, without refund for any portion of the service not yet provided, where appropriate.
9. Changes to these Terms
9.1 We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on our website with a new “Effective date”.
9.2 Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms. For material changes affecting existing bookings, we will notify you where reasonably practicable.
10. Governing law and dispute resolution
10.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
10.2 The parties submit to the non‑exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
10.3 If a dispute arises, we will first try to resolve it through good‑faith discussion. If that fails, we may agree to mediation or another form of alternative dispute resolution before considering court proceedings.
